Consumers are becoming increasingly interested in reducing the amount of waste we produce. With more predicted plastic than fish in the oceans by 2040, reducing plastic consumption and going zero waste is something everyone is somewhat interested in. We all live on the same planet, right?
With everyone doing a lot more cooking lately, I figured I would share some of my favorite ways to use up food! I always love having fresh veggies and fruit in my apartment, but for one person, things can go bad pretty fast if I’m not eating a lot. I love finding new ways to give food a second life! I love thrifting, and more often than not, I’ve discovered all of these things during shopping trips. Here are a couple of my favorite winter thrift finds. I hope this gives you an idea of some of the clothes you can find shopping secondhand and inspires you to try to shop less “fast fashion” this year!
I just want to start off by saying that true zero waste is not practically attainable. Yes, you can eliminate every bit of plastic in your life, quit your job, and go live in the woods somewhere to avoid any unnecessary harm to the earth, but if we’re being honest with ourselves, that’s just not realistic.
